USFreeads Index Advantage

USFreeads is a very popular classified advertising medium to business owners selling tangible as well as digital goods, and to online marketers selling affiliate products. The reason why it is popular is because it gets easily indexed by search engines. If you have a well-researched title (that is keyword with low or no competition) your ad will be on the top of Goggle ranking the next day or so.

Having your ad on top of Google means more exposure to your product. The more traffic, the more likely that you are going to make a sale. But that is only if you use words in your headline with low competition. For a more detailed explanation, read: SEO Frenzy.

USFreeads vs Online Auctions

USFreeads is cheaper than online auction such as eBay. On eBay, you are charged a listing fee and a final value fee (these fees vary according to the season). The pricier your item, the more expensive your fees get. Add more than one picture and you will be charged more for each. You can put an item for a limited time, from three days to a week if you are a regular seller to a month if you own a store.

On the other hand, USFreeads has no listing fee, no final value fee, and you can add up to 12 pictures. What’s more your ad stays for as long as you want or for up until the item sells. The only downside is, there is no feedback system on USFreeads so there is no basis of trust.

USFreeads Restrictions and Limitations

USFreeads does not allow posting classified ads on credit cards, prescription drugs, illegal products, steroids, pornography, gambling, and movie downloads.  So if you are planning to sell any of those, USFreeads is not the right channel for you.

Even if USFreeads has an HTML capacity, it cannot read some codes and script. I tried to post a video which is actually a link to one of the affiliate products I was promoting and it would or could not just translate the script within. I ended up not putting it there at all.

The pictures you post in your ad, unless they have a URL (which means they should be on the web and not your hard drive) will all end up at the bottom of the page. Even if you want the pictures mix and mingle with your texts, you won’t be able to.This restricts your creativity to produce a visually appealing ad.

There are only so much categories that you can select to advertise to. Nevertheless, you have the option to add up to ten categories of your own to categorize your ads. This is something I don’t want to do so I end up posting most of my classified ads for my online marketing under Miscellaneous with the sub-category Everything Else.

USFreeads definitely has areas for improvement and I list them down below:

• Capability to upload pictures before or after saving the ad.
• Video tutorial on the site to guide new advertisers.
• More categories to cater to out-of-the-ordinary classified ads.
