Cooking elegant meals now takes a fraction of a time but the hours of clean up should also be figured in the whole meal preparation.

So, we can now cook delicious and satisfying meals in 30 minutes flat. There is just no reason not to cook at all. There is a plethora of cooking style – even if you are inexperienced, in a tight budget, busy, sad, or lazy.

Cookbooks, cooking shows, and recipes online are in sufficient supply. In addition, today’s cooking gadgets and equipments are so well-advance that we don’t even have to sweat or slave in the kitchen.

Cooking home meals is beneficial. You control the amount and the kind of fat you put in the food. To translate, you are in command of what goes into the food and how it is done. As a result, you’re really getting the best in terms of nutrients, calories, and preparation.

The downside of cooking at home is, of course, the clean up. So, you’ve fed your family with a wonderful meal and everyone is happy. But the meal doesn’t end after it is eaten. It is just half done. Clearing the table, wiping the mess, and washing the dishes come next. And since a wonderful meal is more elaborate to prepare, that means, you have left a variety of utensil trails. Cleaning up is just hard to do.

Now, one option is to use paper and plastic. But this is not eco-friendly. We are in no way helping the environment if we would use disposable utensils. Imagine the trees that would take to produce paper plates, or the plastic cups that would add to the mounting non-biodegradable waste? The focus of the country is to go green and there is no other way to go.

Compared to a macaroni-and-cheese meal that you just boil the pasta, drain, and mix in the cheese, real meals take a great deal of effort. But at the end of the day, many would say that it’s all worth it. Having said all these, I would say that cooking is good and it can be fun. But cleaning up is not. At least for normal people.
