image Too much too many ebooks out there.

Practical tips from a consumer of downloadable products. This article shows you how to buy or not to buy an eBook.

Since the internet is flooding our curiosities nowadays on what’s in those eBooks and we are most likely to purchase one in the near or distant future, I have made a concise guide on buying eBooks. Being a consumer of downloadable products, I have learned what to look for, watch out, and, refrain from. Let’s get the most value for our money and once and for all, let us not be scammed.

1.       Research on the internet. Read product reviews but be sure they are not made for the seller but for the buyer. Some articles are made to build up the product and not to give an unbiased report about it.

2.       Check out forums and see what people are saying about the product. If there are angry customers, then forget about it. People would not take time to say bad things about a person or a product for no reason.

3.       Don’t just jump on what shows up first in the search engines. Yes, it may be on top of Google or Yahoo but it doesn’t mean it has the most quality. Expand your research. The more you research, the better you will come up with the best product.

4.       Look for testimonials within the site. Yes they may be made up but it’s better to have one. See if they are genuine by reading through them one by one.

5.       Money Back Guarantees. Although most eBooks are backed by money back guarantee, check the terms and conditions. They may not be full refunds or there may be questions asked before getting a refund. Also, buying from a foreign country like Canada affects the currency and your credit card will charge you extra for the transaction.

6.       Check out the competition. Similar eBooks may be cheaper and may have more quality content.  This means more value to your money.

7.       Look for blogs. Blogs are distinctive experiences of people and they are most likely the best channel to research on the performance of a product. Learn from the success and mistakes of others. For a blog of this kind, check out http://www.holly-mann.blogspot.com

As you go along, you will learn more and add up to your own unique guide in buying eBooks. Every one of us is different and we should live by what works for us. After all, it’s our money that’s on the line when we buy eBooks.
