Is Financial Freedom A Myth?

image The question is if there will ever be enough.

Money is a problem that has no resolve. it is a hole that will never be filled.

When God created man, he put him in charge of all creations. Everything is set for him – he did not have work. But this changed when he sinned. He was sent away from paradise and from then on had to till the land and live through the fruits of his labor.

Sometimes I wonder if humankind is destined to be slaves for money. Whoever we are, we have the element of money going on in our lives. Either we are short of it, enough of it, or too much of it. Money is always a situation we have to factor in, solve, or figure out. Money shapes our lives. It is so powerful that it can rule over our emotions. It is so magnetic that we are drawn to it. People with money are always an object of fascination. Our society use money to reward people. Our motives are always tainted with the pursuit of money but are often expressed with success, happiness, love, and acceptance.

We want our children to go to school to get good jobs so they can have a better life -- which means to say, so they can have money. We want to have businesses so these businesses can take care of all our needs and wants. We don’t want to spend all our days making money because we want to enjoy our interests, hobbies, and other forms of amusement. We all want to be free of the hassles and worries of money. We want to have financial freedom. After all, life without freedom is dead. But come to think of it, all our lives are spent in the pursuit of money – whether for survival or accumulation. Rich, poor, young, or old, the role of money in our lives is inescapable.

Is financial freedom a myth? This is a question that I am asking myself over and over again. Money defines the world we live in and as long as we live in this world we would forever be tied with what matters in it. Perhaps, the best thing to do is to master our emotions toward money and let us not be held sway. And realize that life is short but money was here before we came and will be here long after we're gone.
